Ableton has rolled out localised pricing for India alongside the release of its latest update, Live 12.3. The move marks a significant step towards improving accessibility for the growing community of music producers and sound designers in the country.
The introduction of INR pricing allows Indian users to purchase and upgrade Ableton Live directly in local currency, a shift that reflects the company’s recognition of India’s expanding base of independent creators and electronic music producers.
Coinciding with this change, Live 12.3 brings several notable additions to the digital audio workstation (DAW), including AI-driven stem separation, direct integration with Splice, and enhanced audio device capabilities.
The new Stem Separation feature enables users to isolate vocals, drums, and instruments from full audio tracks in real time, creating fresh opportunities for remixing, sampling, and live performance. “Local stem separation not only makes the process faster but also opens up possibilities for resynthesis and more creative sampling,” says Jay Panelia, Ableton Certified Trainer and a key figure in India’s electronic music scene.
The update also introduces tighter integration with Splice, allowing producers to browse and audition royalty-free samples from within Live’s interface. Users can now drag and drop an audio clip into the Splice panel to search for rhythmically and harmonically compatible sounds — reducing the need to switch between multiple applications.
For artists like Sanaya Ardeshir (Sandunes), such workflow improvements can be transformative. “Given how hijacked our attention spans are by digital distractions, keeping the creative process contained within one environment helps maintain that flow state behind music-making,” she says. “That you can access Splice from within Live’s browser using shortcuts is incredible.”
Other key updates include device A/B comparison, allowing users to toggle between different instrument or effect settings for faster sound design decisions, along with improved auto-pan tremolo, touch-sensitive step editing, and expanded interface support for the Push 3 controller.
To mark the update, Ableton is offering an India-exclusive flash sale with discounts of up to 50% on new purchases and upgrades until October 20. Existing users can view updated pricing by logging into their Ableton accounts.
