Google Cloud has announced a partnership with Secret Mountain, the metahuman digital avatar band conceptualised by A.R. Rahman . The collaboration aims to build an interactive, AI-driven entertainment experience by leveraging Google Cloud’s infrastructure and generative AI capabilities.
Secret Mountain integrates AI-based avatars, music, and storytelling to create what A.R. Rahman describes as a “global digital music experience.” The band features six virtual performers, including Cara, an Irish singer-songwriter; Zen Tam, a Tamil rapper; and Blessing, an African percussionist and vocalist.
The project is supported by Google Cloud’s suite of generative AI tools — including Veo 3 for avatar embodiment and video generation, Imagen and Gemini Flash 2.5 Image (Nano Banana) for image synthesis, and Gemini 2.5 Pro for conversational AI. These systems will enable avatars to engage in real-time, interactive communication with audiences.
A.R. Rahman described the initiative as an experiment in “reimagining how music, storytelling, and technology come together,” noting that each avatar is backed by a creative team of producers, performers, and choreographers.
According to Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, the collaboration “illustrates how India is fusing world-class artistry with production-ready AI,” setting a new benchmark for creative technology partnerships.
Developed by Radiant Souls, Secret Mountain aims to evolve into a transmedia music property, with plans to build international collaborations, community-led projects, and scalable creative ecosystems powered by AI.
