ContentLens, a Bengaluru-based content intelligence company focused on intellectual property protection and content verification, has appointed music industry executive Hari Nair as Pro Bono Strategic Advisor.
Nair brings more than three decades of experience across the music, media and digital entertainment sectors, having held leadership roles at Tips Music, Sony Music India, PPL India and TikTok. Most recently, he served as CEO of Tips Music, where he oversaw the company’s growth strategy and partnerships with global music and technology platforms.
In his new advisory role, Nair will support ContentLens on business strategy, industry partnerships, investor engagement and market expansion across the media and entertainment sector.
The appointment comes as content owners, labels and artists face growing challenges around intellectual property protection, unauthorised content usage, deepfakes and AI-generated media. ContentLens has positioned itself within this space, developing technology focused on music rights protection, celebrity likeness detection, content provenance and deepfake identification.
According to the company, its products have already been adopted by five large media and entertainment clients. ContentLens has also filed patents related to its fingerprinting, watermarking and audio-visual content intelligence technologies.
Nair’s relationship with the company predates the appointment. Having previously worked with ContentLens as a client, he said his decision to join in an advisory capacity was based on first-hand experience with the platform and its technology.
“I have spent my career building value across the music and entertainment ecosystem, and I can see clearly that the next frontier of that value lies in AI-driven content protection. ContentLens is solving a problem that every label, every artist, and every media company in the world already faces: IP infringement in an age where content can be replicated, repurposed, and monetised without consent. I have worked with this technology as a client and I know what it can do. I am joining because I genuinely believe this platform will matter — for record labels, musicians, artists, celebrities and every form of IP owner.”
Commenting on the appointment, ContentLens founder and CEO Rohan Sahu said Nair’s experience across the music and entertainment business would be valuable as the company enters its next phase of growth.
Nair is widely known within the Indian music industry for his work across recorded music, licensing and digital platforms. During his career, he has worked with organisations including Tips Music, Sony Music India, PPL India and TikTok, where he was involved in the launch of the music streaming service Resso.
As AI-generated content and digital rights management become increasingly important topics across the entertainment industry, companies focused on content identification, attribution and rights protection are attracting growing attention from rights holders and technology investors alike.
