Nirmika Singh is a media entrepreneur, poet, and creative leader operating at the intersection of India’s cultural and commercial economies. She currently serves as the Founder & CEO of MOX Asia, a full-stack creative agency converting media insight into high-impact solutions. A multidisciplinary figure in the entertainment industry, Singh has a diverse portfolio that ranges from corporate leadership to artistic performance. As a lyricist, she has collaborated with Grammy and Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman on tracks such as “Oh Raaya” for the blockbuster Raayan and the “Marvel (Hindi) Anthem” for the global juggernaut Avengers: Endgame. Singh’s credits span seminal works with composers like Salim-Sulaiman and Clinton Cerejo as well. Nirmika Singh is also the host of the Business of Creativity podcast, where she provides industry frameworks to help creative professionals to strengthen their business foundations.
Early Career & Music
Prior to founding her own agency, Singh established herself as a significant voice in music
criticism. She served as the Executive Editor and Digital Director at Rolling Stone India,
becoming the youngest leader to hold this position in the iconic magazine’s history. During her tenure, she led the publication’s digital transformation, pivoting it into a profitable digital-first business. Nirmika Singh was instrumental in documenting the rise of Indian hip-hop and independent music, launching successful intellectual properties (IPs) such as Haq Se Hip-Hop, Hennessy Freestyle and Rolling Stone ICONS. Her academic background includes degrees from Lady Shri Ram College and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Transition to Entrepreneurship
Nirmika Singh’s transition from media executive to entrepreneur was driven by her expertise in identifying strategic ties between artistic networks and commercial brands. Leveraging her experience as a cultural critic and creator, she developed her own artistic IP, #AurSuno, a spoken-word series fusing poetry and solo theatre that has garnered an audience of over
500,000. Her entrepreneurial approach is rooted in “demystifying creativity,” a philosophy she explores deeply in her podcast, Business of Creativity.
