YouTube has opened applications for the 2026 edition of its global artist development programme, Foundry, inviting independent musicians building audiences on the platform to apply.
The application window opened on February 25 and will run until March 25, 2026, with an extended deadline of April 30 for artists in India and Korea.
Foundry is YouTube Music’s long-running initiative focused on supporting independent artists through a mix of funding, mentorship and promotional opportunities aimed at helping them grow sustainable careers on the platform.
Artists selected for the programme receive seed funding for their YouTube channels, dedicated support from a YouTube partner manager, marketing and promotion opportunities, and early access to product features and industry initiatives. The programme also places emphasis on artists who are actively planning new releases with music videos, reflecting YouTube’s continued role as a key platform for visual music discovery.
Foundry typically works with independent artists who are managing their careers themselves or working with independent labels and distributors, while artists signed directly to major labels are not eligible for the programme.
In addition to the main programme, YouTube has also expanded its artist development efforts through Foundry Rising, an earlier-stage initiative that offers micro-grants and platform education to help developing artists activate their YouTube channels and build momentum.
The 2025 Foundry cohort included 28 artists from 13 countries, continuing YouTube’s efforts to spotlight emerging talent across global markets. In India, recent participants have included artists such as Pragati Nagpal, Tanishka Bahl and Chaar Diwaari, reflecting the platform’s growing focus on the country’s independent music ecosystem.
Applications for the 2026 class are currently open via YouTube’s official artist portal, with selected artists expected to be notified later this spring.
