Filmmaker and producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has announced the launch of Sunshine Music, marking Sunshine Pictures’ formal entry into India’s growing music and digital content landscape. The expansion positions the banner to operate not only as a film studio but as a multi-vertical entertainment company with a sharper focus on music discovery, development and distribution.
Sunshine Music will serve as a dedicated platform for emerging artists, composers and music creators, building on Shah’s longstanding association with hit soundtracks across films such as Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, London Dreams and Action Replayy. Many of these albums remain culturally influential, and the new music label aims to build a catalogue with similar long-term value.
The label was launched in Mumbai at Siddhivinayak Temple, signalling the start of Sunshine Pictures’ structured move into the music business. The plan includes releasing original music and soundtracks, fostering new talent, and offering artists access to a production ecosystem with deep industry experience. Music veteran Suresh Thomas will lead creative strategy and oversee the label’s first slate.
Alongside the label, the company has introduced Sunshine Pictures Digital, a new arm designed to support emerging writers, creators, and performers through web series and digital-first storytelling. For music creators, the digital vertical is expected to offer fresh opportunities for scoring, songwriting and audio-led collaborations tied to original content.
The digital division will be headed by Sanjay Upadhyay, with Aashin A. Shah joining as co-producer across the expanded portfolio.
With Sunshine Music and Sunshine Pictures Digital, Vipul Amrutlal Shah is positioning the company to play a more active role in India’s contemporary music ecosystem, one that spans talent development, content creation and cross-platform storytelling.
