In a move to strengthen India’s live entertainment economy, BookMyShow has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana Government and Telangana Tourism to bring international-scale concerts and cultural experiences to the state.
A Strategic Alliance for a Cultural Hub
The MoU, signed during the Telangana Tourism Conclave 2025 at Shilpa Ramam, formalises collaboration between Ashish Hemrajani, Founder & CEO, BookMyShow, and Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary, Telangana Tourism, in the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Hyderabad: The Anchor for India’s Concert Tourism
The partnership aims to position Telangana as a cultural hub by expanding live concert infrastructure, enabling more global tours, and catalysing allied industries such as hospitality, retail and travel. Hyderabad, with its connectivity to major southern metros and strong tech-driven infrastructure, is seen as a strategic anchor for India’s next wave of concert tourism.
“Telangana is poised to become a cultural hub in India, and this partnership lays the foundation for world-class live entertainment at scale,” said Ashish Hemrajani. “By working with forward-thinking state governments such as Telangana, we can enable global experiences for fans while driving sustainable impact for local economies.”
Building on a Proven Track Record
The initiative builds on BookMyShow Live’s previous state-level collaboration with Assam, which brought Post Malone to the Northeast for the first time earlier this year. With this MoU, Telangana joins the growing list of states investing in live entertainment as an economic driver and cultural brand-builder.
For Telangana, the tie-up builds on recent global performances in Hyderabad, including Ed Sheeran and Alan Walker, and signals intent to integrate the state more closely into the international live touring circuit.
BookMyShow Live: Expanding India’s Entertainment Footprint
Over the last decade, BookMyShow Live has played a pivotal role in expanding India’s live entertainment footprint, producing concerts and festivals featuring Coldplay, U2, Maroon 5, Guns N’ Roses, Backstreet Boys, and Lollapalooza India. The Telangana agreement is expected to accelerate this momentum, with the state benefiting from both cultural visibility and economic spillover.
