Swarathma, the renowned folk-rock band from Bengaluru, is set to revolutionize the concert experience with a groundbreaking move towards sustainability. They are about to embark on India’s first multi-city concert tour powered partially by solar and clean energy.
The band, celebrated for their energetic performances and diverse musical styles, is hitting the road to promote their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Raushan. However, this tour stands out for its environmental focus, showcasing Swarathma’s commitment to green entertainment and environmental activism.
Abandoning the usual diesel generators that power concert venues, Swarathma will utilize a portable clean energy system for their performances. This innovative setup promises memorable musical experiences with a sustainable footprint across major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Indore, Gurgaon, and Jaipur.
This eco-friendly initiative was developed in collaboration with solar energy leaders Sustain Plus Energy Foundation and SELCO Foundation, along with energy storage experts AmpereHour. Together, they have created a cutting-edge clean energy power unit to support Swarathma’s nationwide tour.
For Swarathma, this tour is more than just music; it’s about setting a new standard for environmentally-conscious entertainment and promoting sustainable practices within the music industry. With over two decades of engaging audiences with their vibrant tunes and socially aware lyrics, Swarathma has consistently been an advocate for environmental causes.
“As a band, we are excited to bring alive a concert experience that is friendlier to the earth. The experience of co-creating this vision with our sustainability and engineering partners has been very enriching. It is almost as much fun as planning the set lists and the concert itself!” said the band’s bassist, Jishnu Dasgupta.
Ayush Misra, CEO of AmpereHour Energy, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled and honored to partner with an iconic Indian band like Swarathma on this unique tour. Our battery-based energy storage systems have the potential to replace diesel-based power generation, historically used for powering events. This concert will act as a proof of concept that we hope to scale across the entire entertainment and events industry, helping them decarbonize their operations.”
The title track from Swarathma’s forthcoming album, already released, reflects their dedication to spreading hope and positivity. With their eco-friendly concert tour, they are taking their activism to the next level. From early hits like “Pyaasi” to recent anthems like “Ee Bhoomi” and “Duur Kinara,” Swarathma’s music has always resonated with themes of nature and environmentalism.
Through their music and initiatives, Swarathma continues to inspire, proving that music and activism can work together to build a brighter, greener future.
