Video streaming platform YouTube has released its India trends lists which look back at the top music videos along with trending videos and creators of the year gone by. The video for the song ‘Srivalli’ from the film ‘Pushpa’ has been crowned the top music video of the year amassing more than 544 million streams on YouTube. In fact, multiple songs from the film have featured in this year’s top music videos list. Similarly, ‘Arabic Kuthu’ from ‘Beast’ too occupies two spots.
“The interplay between video on demand, short form content and live stream is evident on YouTube and reflected in the annual lists,” YouTube said in a public statement adding that trending videos and creators are indicative of a country’s commitment to pop culture and that the platform is a microcosm for Gen-Z showcasing the world they inhabit.
