Outwrite, a new incubator for Indian songwriters, has officially launched, offering a fresh opportunity for local talent to connect with the global music scene.
The initiative is a collaboration between Grammy-nominated American songwriter and producer Savan Kotecha and talent management firm REPRESENT, led by Aayushman Sinha and songwriter/A&R executive Murtuza Gadiwala.
Outwrite aims to raise songwriting standards, offering creators a pathway to international success. With a career spanning hits for The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, and One Direction, Kotecha brings vast experience to guide homegrown songwriters onto the world stage.
Positioning itself as a comprehensive hub for songwriters, producers, musicians, and engineers, Outwrite provides end-to-end solutions for music creation, curation, and management, fostering a global community of innovative music professionals.
In addition to managing song deals and publishing, the company will offer services such as music business education, project management, legal support, songwriting camps, live set production, branding, and more. Kotecha emphasized that the country’s songwriting and producing talent is exceptional, and Outwrite seeks to provide the platform, resources, and guidance needed for creators to thrive globally.
The venture also aims to address key industry issues such as unfair payouts, lack of proper credit, and limited knowledge of music rights. Outwrite’s mission is to ensure songwriters and producers receive the recognition and compensation they deserve.
Aayushman Sinha, founder and CEO of Represent, said, “Outwrite was created to empower the unsung heroes behind the music – those who craft the songs that shape our lives.” Murtuza Gadiwala added, “There’s a noticeable gap in understanding music publishing. Outwrite is here to change that and help our writers get what they deserve.”
Outwrite will also focus on curating and pitching music for films, advertisements, and brand projects, bringing local talent closer to the global music landscape.
