Founder and CEO, Bridge Asia; Former Assistant Editor, Rolling Stone India

Riddhi Chakraborty is an Indian music journalist, writer, video producer, and media entrepreneur with over a decade of experience covering global and Indian music culture. Her work focuses on pop, hip-hop, R&B, and K-pop, with a strong emphasis on artist storytelling, cultural context, and industry insight.

She has written extensively for leading publications including Rolling Stone India–where she previously served as Assistant Editor–as well as other international and Indian media platforms. During her tenure, she played a key role in expanding the publication’s global music coverage, producing exclusive interviews and original video content with international artists. She started the K-pop journalism movement in India in 2016, and pioneered several new interview formats and shows for Indian and international artists.

Riddhi Chakraborty is the first and only Indian to have interviewed over 65 Korean artists, including four interviews with BTS. Her work is also featured in various Rolling Stone divisions globally: Rolling Stone USA, Japan, Korea, France and Italy. She has also worked with Condé Nast Traveller India, Billboard Korea, The Hindu, FirstPost and the Times of India. Riddhi has been interviewed by various global media houses including the BBC, The Hindu, iHeart Radio, Good Times and more about her groundbreaking work in the music industry.

Early Career & Music

Riddhi Chakraborty knew by the time she was 14 years old she wanted to work for Rolling Stone– the world’s most iconic music publication. It was around this time that she was first published in Rolling Stone India when she wrote a letter to the editor about Eminem’s lyricism. She kept a personal music blog throughout her teens and into college, finally beginning her career in celebrity PR immediately after graduation. Within a year she had worked with various prominent figures in the Indian entertainment industry including Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt and more, building a foundation with each artist and their team, learning about the behind the scenes of the industry and how to navigate the world of media.

Finally in 2016– in a full-circle move beyond her dreams– Rolling Stone India came across her music blog and offered her a job. She joined the team as a Staff Writer, soon making her way up until she became the youngest Assistant Editor in RSI’s history.

After interviewing and working with some of the biggest names in the business including A.R. Rahman, Jason Derulo, M.I.A, The 1975 and many more, Riddhi found her niche in K-pop. She was the first Indian journalist to interview BTS back in 2017 and remains the only Indian to have done four interviews with the band.

As one of the earliest Indian journalists to consistently secure direct access to Korean artists and labels, she set a precedent for long-form interviews over press-release rewrites, respectful cross-cultural coverage and deeper artist narratives rather than fandom stereotypes that K-pop is often subjected to.

Over the next few years, she created unique new formats to introduce Korean artists to India and their Indian fans, conducting in-depth interviews about their artistry while also launching fun IPs to introduce them to Indian culture.

Transition to Entrepreneurship

In 2023, Riddhi Chakraborty realized she wanted to create a space where she could tell artists’ stories while also giving herself, her team and her artists complete creative control. She left Rolling Stone India and founded her own media company Bridge Asia in 2024 to bring Indian audiences closer to artists from various Asian countries.

Within weeks of its launch, Bridge Asia secured a brand deal, photoshoots with three K-pop groups and came onboard as a media partner for India’s only K-pop music festival, K-Town. In 2025, Bridge Asia welcomed major Korean labels as clients–including JYP Entertainment and their girl group NMIXX– for PR and marketing campaigns as well as exclusive IPs. Artists the company worked with in 2024 and 2025 included Blackswan, AleXa, James Han, Jinsol Woo, ALL(H)OURS and W.I.S.H.

During Riddhi’s time in Seoul in 2025, Bridge Asia was also granted exclusive access to several major concerts and events to represent India and deliver exclusive coverage– this included the King of K-pop G-Dragon’s first concert in nearly a decade, BTS member J-Hope’s solo concert, Korea’s biggest hip-hop festival Hipopplaya, press conferences hosted by HYBE, plus stages at the celebrated Korean TV music show Inkigayo. In addition to exclusive photos, footage and coverage of each event, Bridge Asia was also able to deliver artist messages to Indian fans and vice versa to help both parties connect and learn about one another.
