Red Bull is introducing a new live format to India with Red Bull Directions, an interactive DJ experience that places real-time control of the music in the hands of the audience.
Set to take place at IISc Bengaluru on March 21, the event will feature DJ Teri Miko on the decks, with the crowd actively shaping the direction of the set through live inputs and voting.
Unlike conventional DJ performances that operate on a “no requests” culture, Red Bull Directions flips the format on its head. The audience is invited to influence key elements of the set, from track selection to transitions, effectively turning a passive crowd into active participants.
The concept builds on Red Bull’s broader track record of audience-led formats across music and culture, where interactivity and crowd response play a central role in determining outcomes. In this case, that participation extends directly into the creative process, reshaping how a DJ set unfolds in real time.
For India’s electronic music ecosystem, the format arrives at a moment when live experiences are increasingly being designed around engagement rather than just performance.
While club culture has traditionally prioritised curation and control from the DJ, Directions introduces a more fluid structure, where the energy of the room has a direct and immediate impact on what gets played.
