Navjosh Singh is an award winning journalist turned music executive, currently serving as the Head of A&R for Mass Appeal South Asia, one of the most prominent music labels in modern music, co-founded by Nas. He has over 17 years of experience in journalism, content distribution, curation, artist development and A&R as he continues to successfully balance being an editor/journalist and full-time music executive.

His media outlet HipHop-N-More.com has won several accolades, including being ranked on The Source Magazine’s prestigious “Digital Power 30,” a list which honors the most influential Hip-Hop outlets on the internet.

As a Voting Member of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs), Navjosh Singh continues to connect South Asian artists with the global music community, blending his deep roots in journalism with his experience in artist development.

Early Career & Music

A high school drummer, Navjosh got his accidental start in the music industry while still in law college, when Navjosh Singh launched a blog in 2008 that covered the latest in the world of hip-hop, breaking news and offering meaningful commentary. His website HipHop-N-More, which was born purely as a passion project, quickly became one of the most sought after platforms on Hip-Hop with traffic peaking at over 1.5 million visitors a month and Navjosh becoming a significant voice in the global Hip-Hop culture. He has interviewed prominent artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, Ashanti, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Chamillionaire, Akon and Lil Baby among others. In 2012, Navjosh successfully launched the artist discovery platform “Saturday Spotlight” where he helped discover artists such as Russ, Ty Dolla Sign, IDK, August Alsina, Trap Beckham and more. 

Transition to Entrepreneurship

In 2019, Navjosh Singh launched his own consultancy 86sonics, serving artists of all sizes in US, UK and South Asia with an aim to provide boutique A&R, sync and marketing services. Aside from helping multi platinum artists, he also landed A&R and producer credits on American TV shows like The Chi, Swagger (Apple TV), 50 Cent’s POWER and more while creating sync & discovery opportunities for emerging artists. In 2022, he joined Mass Appeal India as a consultant and A&R and soon after took upon the role of Head of A&R as the company grew its operations in India and widened its scope of work to other markets in South Asia. With a truly global vision, he has contributed as an A&R and producer to releases from the likes of DIVINE, Karan Aujla, Sidhu Moose Wala, Ghostface Killah, SMG, Raf Saperra, Russ, Armani White, Connor Price and dozens more.
