Big Bang Music has entered into a strategic agreement with Sony Music Publishing (SMP). This collaboration entails SMP taking charge of the worldwide administration and promotion of Big Bang Music’s repertoire, aiming to amplify the exposure of their music across the global landscape.
A joint venture between Sony Music & Collective Artists Network, Big Bang Music was launched in 2019 with the aim of identifying and nurturing emerging talents across diverse musical genres within India.
The partnership is anticipated to boost the publishing and royalty earnings of artists and songwriters while attaining a more extensive global audience via sync opportunities and global songwriter collaborations. The agreement covers administration, synchronization, and catalog promotion of the Indie music label’s repertoire.
Dinraj Shetty, Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing India, said in a statement, “BGBNG serves as a remarkable platform for burgeoning artists and songwriters. This partnership intends to facilitate opportunities for these vibrant young talents, enabling them to collaborate with global songwriters and offering support through an exceptional global publishing framework. Our mission is to empower artists to showcase their talents while bridging the gap between India and the global music markets.”
Gaurav Wadhwa, Founder and CEO of Big Bang Music, said, “This agreement represents an excellent opportunity for us to expand our reach and introduce independent Indian music to a global audience. Big Bang Music holds a prominent position in India’s independent music scene, and this collaboration is poised to not only augment our publishing and royalty streams but also extend Indian independent music to an international platform. Sony, with its established stature, emerges as the perfect partner to further nurture the growth of our independent artists by transcending geographical boundaries.”
