Warner Music India has expanded its collaboration with JetSynthesys‘ subsidiary, Global Music Junction (GMJ), solidifying its position as a major player in India’s local language music scene. Building upon their previous agreement from 2021, the new deal includes Warner Music’s strategic investment in GMJ, granting it a board seat and establishing Warner Music India as a key player in the central Indian music market.
GMJ is a major player in languages like Bhojpuri, Kannada, Gujarati, Haryanvi, and Oriya, with significant growth seen in the latter two. With Bhojpuri being the fastest-growing language in India, this expansion establishes Warner Music as a leading force in this segment.
Offering comprehensive artist and label services, including content creation, event management, distribution, marketing, analytics, and legal support, GMJ has cultivated a vast ecosystem with over 100 partners and 250 million subscribers. Annually, it delivers more than 100 billion minutes of entertainment through 130,000-plus pieces of audiovisual music content.
Alfonso Perez Soto, President of Emerging Markets at Warner Music, expresses the significance of this milestone: “Expanding our collaboration with GMJ marks a major step in our India expansion.
