TuneCore, the artist development platform owned by Paris-based music company Believe, has released the second edition of its annual Indian Indie Round Table. The initiative brings together voices from across the independent ecosystem to reflect on the creative shifts, structural challenges, and defining moments that shaped India’s indie music landscape in 2025.
Hosted by music journalist Amit Gurbaxani, this year’s discussion features singer-songwriter Nischay Parekh of TV Dinner, Dhaval Khotari, founder of music marketing agency All By Play, and Sherish Sheikh, founder of Odd House Management, who represents emerging indie artist Mansa Jimmy. The panel brings together perspectives from artists, managers, marketers, and ecosystem builders who work closely with TuneCore.
The conversation centres on themes of reinvention, community building, and the increasing demand for authenticity within the independent space. It also explores how regional identity is influencing new sounds, why on-ground ecosystems remain critical for audience connection, how the role of social media continues to evolve, and the growing sophistication of artist support structures in India.
Commenting on the return of the round table, Akhila Shankar, Head of TuneCore South Asia, said that the initiative was conceived to create meaningful dialogue that actively contributes to strengthening the independent ecosystem. She noted that artists and partners are helping shape how indie music grows in India, and that sharing their experiences allows the wider community to learn and evolve together. According to Shankar, creating spaces for knowledge-sharing remains central to TuneCore’s approach to supporting independent artists and contributing to the future of the sector.
The full conversation is now available on TuneCore India’s YouTube channel, offering a candid and informed snapshot of where Indian independent music stands today and where it may be headed next.
