TuneCore, a digital music distribution, publishing, and licensing service and a subsidiary of global digital music company Believe, has released the second edition of its TuneCore Accelerator Report. The report highlights significant growth in streaming, revenue, and fanbase for independent artists using the TuneCore Accelerator platform, which launched in 2023.
The TuneCore Accelerator platform is designed to help independent artists at every stage of their careers discover new audiences and expand fan engagement. It provides promotional and marketing programs tailored to specific goals, offering artists the tools to increase their visibility, grow their fanbase, and deepen engagement. The platform is divided into four development plans based on the artist’s streaming milestones:
- START: For artists with under 1,000 streams annually, helping them find their first listeners.
- AMPLIFY: For artists with 1,000 to 9,999 streams, focusing on boosting discovery and listener engagement.
- BREAK: For those with 10,000 to 99,999 streams, accelerating fan exposure.
- MAXIMIZE: For artists with 100,000 to 1 million+ streams, optimizing catalogs and maximizing audience reach.
Andreea Gleeson, CEO of TuneCore, emphasized the platform’s importance in today’s rapidly changing music industry: “With the constant evolution of the industry, independent artists, especially early-career musicians, need more than just distribution. They require access to marketing programs that can help their music reach the right audiences. TuneCore Accelerator gives artists unparalleled access to promotional opportunities that enhance streaming growth, support fanbase expansion, and ultimately increase earnings.”
TuneCore Accelerator marks a shift in TuneCore’s focus from simply being a distribution service to becoming a comprehensive audience development platform for independent artists. As part of its expansion, the platform includes new marketing initiatives, partnerships with digital service providers, and access to Believe Group’s catalog optimizer tool, which identifies high-potential tracks for promotional inclusion.
Key insights from the second TuneCore Accelerator Report show that:
- In the first half of 2024, the platform contributed to over 3 billion track discoveries and 10 billion new streams for participating artists.
