Think Indie, the independent label under Think Music, has announced a partnership with Tamil rapper Asal Kolaar. This collaboration will bring forth Asal’s latest release, Paiya Dei, marking a new chapter of creative control for the artist.

Paiya Dei is set to blend traditional Tamil music with modern elements, offering a fresh experience for listeners. This partnership also involves Believe, the global digital music company and a key player behind Think Music and Think Indie, which aims to break new ground in the industry through this project.

Asal Kolaar has gained recognition for his independent hits like “Jorthaale” and “Adi Odi,” and has also worked with leading composers like Santhosh Narayanan and Anirudh Ravichander, highlighting his versatility across genres. Commenting on the release of his music video on his own channel, Asal stated, “This opportunity is a milestone in my career, allowing me to take full control of my work. I’m excited to be among the first to experience this level of independence.”

This partnership with Think Indie offers Asal full creative oversight of his release, reflecting a shift in how independent Tamil artists are empowered in today’s digital landscape. Vivek Raina, Managing Director for India and South Asia at Believe, described the collaboration as a pivotal moment that could reshape how Tamil independent music is produced and shared globally.

Santhosh Kumar, Vice President at Think Music, added, “Asal is paving the way for Tamil artists to gain international recognition, and we’re excited to be part of this journey.”
