Spotify 2021 Wrapped – the personalised user experience annually released since 2019 – is now live. It features top artists, albums, songs, playlists, and podcasts that you have played throughout the year. Additionally, the streaming giant has also launched top lists for global markets including India, showcasing consumer trends on the platform. SpotifyWrapped 2021 centres round the theme of ‘totally normal’ in light of the pandemic.
The personalised Spotify Wrapped 2021 experience is available on the Spotify mobile app (iOS and Android) which can be exported to other social media channels like Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter. There is a ‘Your 2021 Wrapped’ banner on your home screen. Alternatively, type in Wrapped in the search bar. Once you get to the ‘Wrapped “Story’, you’ll be able to see your statistics.
Wrapped’s 2021 edition is for the first time equipped with new features that make the experience more interactive with a heavy dose of cross-platform sharing.
The Stories style continues this year with information including top artists, genres, podcasts, minutes listened, and more.
There’s a ‘2021: The Movie’ that combines most played songs with visual elements.
The ‘Audio Aura’ is the result of Spotify’s collaboration with an aura expert to visualise that analyses their moods inputted while streaming.
An interactive data-based game ‘Playing Cards’ prompts users to pick true or false from a slew of statements about their listening patterns.
The new ‘Blend’ feature lets users stream their blended playlist and share results on social media. Also, a part of Wrapped, this feature allows users to merge their playlists with their friends.
Wrapped 2021 will feature exclusive video content for top fans. Spotify says more than 170 artists and creators have videos thanking fans for including them in their Wrapped. These videos will appear if fans have a song by one of the participating artists in their “Your Top Songs 2021” or “Your Artists Revealed” playlist.
There’s the ‘Spotify Clips for Podcasts’ and fans will be able to view special thank you messages from some of their favourite hosts by visiting a participating show’s page on the platform.
“With access to their own individualised Wrapped microsite experience, creators can dive into all the ways in which their fans listened this year through Spotify for Artists and Spotify for Podcasters,” said the company.
