Gorillaz’s ‘The Manifesto’ unites Trueno, Proof & Indian musicians from the Bangash family & Jea Band Jaipur

Gorillaz have released “The Manifesto”, the second track from their forthcoming album The Mountain. The song follows last month’s release of “The Happy Dictator” featuring Sparks and continues to explore the album’s central ideas around life, death, and continuity.

The new track brings together diverse collaborators. It features Argentine rapper Trueno, whose verses reflect on uncertainty and renewal, and a previously unreleased freestyle by the late Proof, a longtime Gorillaz collaborator and member of D12. Proof’s contribution, recorded shortly before an early studio session, adds a raw, historical layer to the piece.

The track also includes contributions from Indian classical musicians Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash on the sarod, Ajay Prasanna on bansuri, and the Jea Band Jaipur, known for their traditional brass performances at Indian weddings. Vocals are provided by The Mountain Choir, led by Vijayaa Shanker.

These global collaborations reflect the larger creative direction of The Mountain, which brings together multiple musical traditions and voices.

Gorillaz will take The Mountain Tour across the UK and Ireland in 2026, with shows in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff, Nottingham, Liverpool, Belfast, and Dublin. The tour will conclude with a headline performance at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 20 June 2026.

“The Manifesto” and “The Happy Dictator” are now streaming across major platforms.
