Progressive rock guitarist and composer Sutej Singh has been announced as the recipient of the 2025 TuneCore Grant. This year’s edition saw over 360 submissions from independent musicians across India, underscoring the growing relevance of the grant within the country’s indie music ecosystem.
Singh, who hails from Solan in Himachal Pradesh, has been releasing music via TuneCore since 2023. His latest album, Restless | Relentless, released in May 2025, marks a shift in his creative direction. Apple Music described the project as “the work of a man refreshed and ready to take it to the next level.”
Reacting to the win, Singh said the grant would support the expansion of the album’s reach through enhanced content creation, including multi-camera live performances and immersive music videos. “This grant not only offers crucial financial support, but it also validates the years of effort, learning, and reinvention that went into creating my second album,” he shared in a statement.
In addition to the financial support, the 2025 edition of the TuneCore Grant introduced new opportunities through a partnership with Music Plus. This year’s winner will also receive a Golden Ticket to All About Music 2025, along with exclusive one-on-one career development sessions, aimed at providing strategic guidance and industry insights to help emerging artists navigate the next phase of their careers.
Singh first gained recognition with his 2018 debut The Emerging, which topped the Apple Music India Rock Charts and featured collaborations with global musicians such as Peter Hentingsson, Scott Higham, Raymond Hearne, Kylan Amos, and Gina Luciani. Since then, he has built a reputation as one of India’s leading voices in instrumental and progressive rock.
The TuneCore Grant continues to position itself as a key enabler for India’s independent music community, offering both financial backing and strategic support to artists looking to scale their careers.
