Erased Tapes finds a home in India through Anara Publishing

Anara Publishing has recently announced a partnership with the distinguished label and publisher, Erased Tapes. Known for its avant-garde ethos and disruptive influence since its inception in 2007 by Robert Raths, Erased Tapes has consistently championed genre-defying artists globally.

The London-based label boasts a rich catalog featuring renowned composers like Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Anne Müller, Lubomyr Melnyk, Peter Broderick, Penguin Cafe, Rival Consoles, Kiasmos, Hatis Noit, Ben Lukas Boysen, and more. This collaboration opens doors for Erased Tapes to navigate the dynamic Indian film and media landscape through sync and bespoke composition, as expressed by Robert Raths.

Anara Publishing, a key player in the Indian sync licensing market, views this partnership as an opportunity to introduce Erased Tapes’ global sounds to the Indian audience. With a track record of working with notable clients and brands such as Sony Television, Asian Paints, MX Player, JioStudios, and Netflix, Anara continues to expand the music publishing infrastructure in India.

Deborah Smith, Director of Anara Publishing, emphasizes the potential of this collaboration to bring a fresh sonic experience to Indian clients. Beyond licensing tracks, they are exploring collaborations between Erased Tapes’ composers and local Indian artists, aiming to introduce a unique sound to the market.

The timing aligns with Erased Tapes’ expansion of their artist collective, including the recent signing of Sheherazaad, an American performer-composer. Sheherazaad’s contemporary folk-pop synthesis, combined with South Asian diasporic soundscapes, adds a distinctive dimension to Erased Tapes’ diverse roster.

Anara Publishing’s representation of Erased Tapes’ catalog for sync in India signifies their dedication to fostering global musical connections. This collaboration reflects a significant chapter in the ongoing narrative of music’s power to unite diverse audiences worldwide.
