With his upcoming debut, pan-India tour, rapper Badshah is calling on all his ‘Paagals’ to be themselves. “I think everyone has some Paagalpanti in themselves,” he said at a recent in-person event to promote the Paagal India Tour – a hat tip to his chartbuster of the same name, presented by Bollyboom (a Percept Live IP). “This tour is a celebration of that Paagalpanti. It is an invitation to be yourself, not be judged and have the time of your lives!”
The rapper first announced his debut tour on social media last month with exclusive artwork designed by multidisciplinary audio visual artist Santanu Hazarika.
The tour kicks off tomorrow, December 24 in Mumbai before making its way to six other cities all over the country including Guwahati, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Gurugram, Pune before culminating on March 18 in Bengaluru. Tickets, which went on sale on November 15, are priced from Rs 499 onwards, depending on the venue.
At the in-person event in Mumbai, the superstar rapper remained tight-lipped about exclusive details, however revealed there will be a slate of creative collaborations that will supplement the multi-city tour. When asked about what attendees can expect, Badshah said, “Me, my band, dancers, fashion, glamour, an amazing setup, a one-of-a-kind experience and a huge amount of surprises. Bas paisa wasool hona chahiye. People are investing their emotions, and their money, and if they don’t get the worth of their investment, then they won’t be back. I am a music listener as well, so think a lot about what the fans are expecting when they come to a concert.”
Known for songs like ‘Jugnu’ and ‘Kala Chashma’, the rapper added that since his foray in the Indian music industry, he’s held himself accountable to set benchmarks. “With everything I’ve done, be it music, fashion, entertainment and now live shows,” he said. “This tour is going to be my story, what my life has been like, It is my film. You will see who Badshah is, how and why I am, the way I am!”
