Virgin Music Group extends partnership with Play DMF

Universal Music’s global artist services division Virgin Music Group has announced the extension of its deal with Play DMF, the Mumbai-based entertainment company founded by producer and entrepreneur Anshul Garg.

This new long-term agreement solidifies the collaboration between Play DMF and Virgin Music Group well into the next decade.

Play DMF boasts a YouTube channel with over 5 million subscribers and a string of tracks such as “Guli Mata,” “Yimmy Yimmy,” “Heer Ranjha,” “Hum Toh Deewane,” and the recently released “Zaalima.” The company achieved significant success with the Bollywood film soundtrack “Selfiee,” that garnered over 200 million streams globally and more than 400 million views on YouTube.

“Play DMF is consistently one of our most successful partners in India,” said Amit Sharma, Country Manager, India for Virgin Music Group. “Our close collaboration with Anshul and his team has yielded remarkable results, and we are honored to extend our partnership well into the next decade. We anticipate many exciting international collaborations with Play DMF, and this long-term deal underscores our strong commitment to this partnership.”

Anshul Garg, founder of Play DMF, expressed enthusiasm about the extended partnership. “Partnering with Virgin Music Group aligns perfectly with my vision for Play DMF,” he said. “Our goal is to create global music that elevates India on the world music stage. With Virgin Music Group, we can achieve this on a much larger scale. Extending this partnership highlights the impact we are making in the global music scene, and we promise to continue delivering more chart-topping hits into the next decade.”

To mark the extended partnership, Play DMF is launching a new track titled “Ittefaq,” created by contemporary composers Oaff and Savera. The song features popular Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, who is making his singing debut, alongside actor Wamiqa Gabbi. The accompanying music video is set for release on June 12th.
