After years of speculation and fan demand, Foo Fighters have finally announced their first-ever performances in India.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band will play two headline shows in January 2027, with dates scheduled for Bengaluru on January 29 and Mumbai on January 31. The concerts are being promoted by BookMyShow Live.
Rather than standalone arena shows, both dates are being positioned as full-day rock events featuring a mix of international and Indian artists before Foo Fighters take the stage.
The Bengaluru lineup will include performances by Pinkshift, Alain Johannes, Die Spitz and The Pretty Reckless, while the Mumbai edition will feature Mali, Still In Therapy, Die Spitz and The Pretty Reckless alongside the headliners.
The announcement marks a long-awaited first visit to India for a band that has remained one of rock’s biggest touring attractions for three decades. Led by Dave Grohl, the group has built a catalogue that includes songs such as Everlong, My Hero, Learn To Fly, Times Like These, Best Of You and The Pretender.
The current lineup features Grohl alongside Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee and Ilan Rubin.
Fans can expect a set spanning the band’s career, including material from their latest studio album Your Favorite Toy, released earlier this year.
“After 31 years as a band, we can’t wait to FINALLY play for our fans in India!! It’s taken a few years but we promise it’ll be worth the wait. We hope Bengaluru and Mumbai are ready for a couple of very long, very loud nights,” said Grohl.
For India’s live music sector, the booking adds another major international act to an increasingly busy calendar. In recent years, promoters have brought artists including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone and Guns N’ Roses to the country, reflecting growing demand for large-scale international touring events.
Commenting on the announcement, Naman Pugalia, Chief Business Officer – Live Events at BookMyShow, said Foo Fighters’ India debut represented an important moment for rock fans and the wider live entertainment industry, adding that the company was aiming to deliver a festival-style experience around the band’s first visit.
General ticket sales open at 12pm IST on June 16 through BookMyShow.
