Navjot Ahuja signs with REPRESENT following breakout of ‘Khat’

Independent singer-songwriter Navjot Ahuja has signed an exclusive management deal with REPRESENT, following the breakout of his track ‘Khat’.

The song reached No.1 on Spotify Global Viral 50 and held the position for over a month, extending its run across markets including India, Pakistan and the UAE. It has also driven Ahuja’s monthly listenership to over 8.6 million, marking a sharp shift in scale for an artist who had been releasing independently for over a decade.

Ahuja’s catalogue prior to ‘Khat’ was built without label or management backing, with the track acting as the first point of large-scale discovery. Its traction has been driven primarily through short-form and streaming-led discovery, a pattern that continues to define how independent artists break through in India.

Speaking about the shift, Ahuja said, “Khat changed my position, not me. Honestly, nothing about this was planned. Khat came from a very real, personal space, so seeing the kind of love it’s received has been surreal. What’s been most special is how deeply people are connecting with it – in ways that feel honest and personal to them. Internally, I’m still the same. I still approach music the same way, just trying to stay true to what I feel.”

With management now in place, the focus is expected to move towards structured releases and live. Early plans around touring are being discussed, as the track continues to perform across platforms.

For REPRESENT, the signing adds to its roster of independent and emerging artists. For Ahuja, it marks a transition from a self-managed phase to a more formal setup, at a point where audience scale has already been established.
