Job Overview
Jio World Centre is hiring a Manager, Programming & Events in Mumbai to curate and deliver world-class cultural, literary, and live entertainment experiences. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in event programming, artist management, theatre, cultural initiatives, or live event production who can conceptualize innovative events, manage artist relationships, coordinate cross-functional teams, and create memorable audience experiences.
JOB PURPOSE:
Manager – Programming & Events will be responsible for conceptualizing, curating, and executing a diverse range of cultural, literary, and live-event experiences for the venue. The role focuses on building an engaging and vibrant cultural ecosystem by bringing together theatre, books, performances, conversations, and community-driven experiences that align with the vision and identity of the space. The individual will actively scout emerging trends, talent, creators, artists, authors, and collaborators to curate relevant and meaningful programming.
The role will also involve end-to-end planning and execution of events, including coordination with internal stakeholders, artist management, event logistics, and on-ground delivery to ensure seamless audience experiences. Additionally, the individual will contribute towards building a loyal cultural community, increasing audience engagement, and positioning the venue as a preferred destination for creativity, cultural exchange, and immersive live experiences.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
Programming & Curation
– Curate and execute a diverse calendar of cultural events including poetry, theatre, spoken word, literature, music, and community-led experiences.
– Conceptualize innovative and culturally relevant event formats aligned with the venue’s identity and audience preferences.
– Stay updated on emerging trends in arts, literature, theatre, and live entertainment to introduce fresh programming ideas.
Artist & Talent Management
– Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with artists, authors, performers, creators, and cultural collaborators.
– Coordinate artist communication, schedules, hospitality, technical requirements, and event deliverables.
– Build a strong network of emerging and established talent across cultural and creative communities.
Event Planning & Execution
– Manage end-to-end event execution including planning, scheduling, rehearsals, logistics, vendor management, and on-ground operations.
– Coordinate with internal teams including marketing, operations, F&B, technical, and venue management for seamless event delivery.
– Ensure smooth execution and high-quality audience and artist experiences during events.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
– Work closely with internal departments to align programming with operational feasibility, brand positioning, and audience engagement goals.
– Build relationships with publishers, theatre groups, creative institutions, agencies, and community partners.
– Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support successful event planning and execution.
Audience Engagement & Community Building
– Design engaging and immersive experiences that encourage audience participation and repeat footfall.
– Build and nurture a strong cultural community around the venue through meaningful programming and collaborations.
– Gather audience insights and feedback to enhance future experiences and programming quality
Marketing & Brand Support
– Work closely with marketing teams to promote events and increase audience reach and engagement.
– Support the venue’s position as a vibrant, premium, and culturally relevant experiential destination.
Operations & Reporting
– Maintain event calendars, artist databases, schedules, budgets, and execution reports.
– Prepare post-event feedback and recommendations to improve future programming and operations.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Creative mindset with the ability to curate engaging cultural and live-event experiences.
• Strong event planning and execution skills, including coordination, logistics, and on-ground management.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities across internal and external teams.
• Ability to build strong relationships within cultural, creative, and entertainment communities.

• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
• Passion and awareness of theatre, literature, arts, live performances, and cultural experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Mass Media, Performing Arts, Literature, Humanities, Marketing, or a related field
EXPERIENCE:
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in events, theatre, cultural programming, publishing, live entertainment, or community engagement.
• Strong understanding of Mumbai’s cultural and creative ecosystem preferred.
• Prior experience in artist coordination, event execution, or cultural collaborations will be an added advantage.
