YouTube India has released the list of top 10 trending videos of 2021; top 10 Indian YouTubers; and top 10 music videos this year.
‘Lut Gaye’ has been declared the most viewed music video on YouTube in India this past year. The song has been composed by Tanishq Bagchi and performed by Jubin Nautiyal with lyrics by Manoj Muntashir. It is based on the life of Vijay Dandekar, a Mumbai encounter specialist. Earlier this year, the track – which features Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi – became the fastest song to reach one billion views on YouTube.
Other featured songs on the list include ‘Paani Paani’ by Badshah; ‘Saiyaan Ji’ by rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh; ‘Raataan Lambiyan’ from the film ‘Shershaah’; and ‘Baarish Ki Jaaye’ by B Praak, among others.
With the marked dip in Bollywood film music releases, independent music thrived this year. Bhojpuri music videos saw a spike of interest in 2021. “We saw the continued rise of Bhojpuri music with artists Ankush Raja and Shilpi Raj at the helm of the sub-culture as it continues to thrum and thrive across geographies,” said YouTube India in a statement.
