Early Career & Music
Vidya began her professional journey as a lawyer, specializing in contracts and intellectual property across firms in India and later in Los Angeles. Her time in LA, where she worked closely with young creatives navigating complex contracts, exposed her to the gaps in legal awareness for artists and catalyzed her shift toward the entertainment industry. Returning to India, she discovered her calling within independent music, bringing together her legal expertise and passion for storytelling to support artists in a more holistic way.
Transition to Entrepreneurship
Vidya’s entrepreneurial journey took shape at Atti Culture, a newly formed independent music label and production house founded by music producer ofRO and filmmaker Ken Royson in Chennai. Starting with limited resources and an experimental vision, Vidya quickly grew into an important force within the company. Her role expanded across talent management, operations, marketing strategy, creative direction, and executive production – enabling her to support artists end-to-end, from ideation to release to live performance. Her ability to merge legal protection with creative empowerment has made her a trusted guide for independent artists navigating the evolving Indian music landscape.
