Tamil rapper, songwriter and composer Arivu has been selected to represent India at AXEAN Festival 2026 in Bali, Indonesia, after winning TuneCore India’s AXEAN Festival 2026 Showcase Contest.
As part of the initiative, Arivu will perform at the festival alongside independent artists from across Southeast Asia. The contest marks India’s first participation in TuneCore’s partnership with AXEAN Festival, which has supported independent artists from the region since 2021.
Known for his work as a rapper, singer, songwriter and composer, Arivu has built a catalogue spanning independent releases and film music. His credits include Enjoy Enjaami, Vaathi Raid, Neeye Oli, Single Pasanga, Golden Sparrow and Thalapathy Kacheri.
Commenting on the opportunity, Arivu said, “It’s a great pleasure to perform at AXEAN Festival with TuneCore alongside artists from across the world. It’s an interesting experiment for me, observing how an audience unfamiliar with my language receives my sound. I’m just as excited to hear what artists from other parts of the world have to offer.”
TuneCore said the initiative is aimed at creating international opportunities for independent artists and strengthening connections between music communities across Asia. At this year’s festival, Arivu will join TuneCore-selected artists from Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
