Sony Music Publishing is looking for a detail-oriented Publishing Administration Manager to oversee catalog administration, royalty tracking, and global publishing operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate data management, rights administration, and timely royalty processing across international markets.
What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)
- Liaison with Global Admin in London for guidance in administering 3rd party catalogues in India before/after deals are signed.
- Liaison with GCA Nashville for reporting all new deals; deal modifications, songs, and song amendments
- Monitoring and verification of local data relating to local signings, as loaded in Tempo
- Registration of agreements and song to local society
- Ensuring timelines of deliveries to meet distribution deadlines
- Handle Copyright related enquiries from Global Admin/GCA
- Manage FTV cue sheet feeds (from SME India) and associated tracking
- Handling of counterclaims and disputes, samples, and unauthorized usages
- Liaison with IPRS in respect of representation of catalogue
- Monitoring for timely royalty reporting from all income sources.
- Support submitting CRJ’s to Nashville to ensure accurate processing of royalties received
- Responsible for managing SCORE enrolment for local clients and managing associated workflow
- Responsible for reviewing royalty run reports to ensure accurate reporting.
- Tracking income to ensure no income is outstanding or missing and escalating where necessary.
- Reviewing, analyzing and releasing income lines held in Internal Suspense and Calc Error to maximize income processed.
- Co-ordinating royalty payment runs to clients.
- Dealing with affiliate and client queries relating to SMP India to ensure complete and accurate accounting.
- Compiling Reconciliation Summaries
- Compiling/performing Quarterly Collection analysis and present to management
- Ongoing review of existing links between Tempo songs, ISRC’s and other identifiers to assess and verify the quality of those links.
- Responding to audit claims either locally or internationally
- Responding to requests from Global Admin, Affiliates, and Management
- Liaison with local signings from an admin perspective
- Liaison with local society and local DSPs from an admin perspective
- Any other publishing admin tasks required
Who You Are: (skills/experience/qualifications in order of importance)
Essential requirements
- Education – Any Graduate Degree
- Experience working in Music Publishing & Content Administration
- Advanced Microsoft Office applications (excel essential)
- Advanced data manipulation skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, highly interactive and communicative with others and able to express ideas in clear, logical, and constructive way
- Ability to escalate issues based on business needs and prioritization
- Supports, co-operates, and collaborates with the General Manager sharing access to data, information and expertise
- Able to prioritize workload efficiently to ensure all responsibilities are met and delivered on a timely basis and open issues are followed through and resolved satisfactorily
- Effective at working with internal colleagues and external bodies to ensure that the data requirements for the team are met and continuously improved
- Works towards team/department/company objectives and taking pride in meeting
- targets and satisfying internal & external customers
