Tips Music inks multi-year licensing deal with ShareChat and Moj

Tips Music has announced a multi-year licensing deal with Indian short form video apps, ShareChat and Moj. The deal has further signified the importance of music-related content in the short video apps ecosystem.

The partnership will allow ShareChat and Moj’ 340 million active users, access to not only Tip’s latest upcoming music content but its massive catalogue of Indian music to create their own short video content using the in-app library.

The robust music library offers thousands of songs in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati, and Bhojpuri across genres like film or non-film songs, devotional music, ghazals, and indie-pop.

Music Plus had earlier reported on consulting firm, RedSeer’s report titled ‘Entertainment & Advertising | Riding The Digital Wave’. It says that India’s short form content creators – who mostly hail from smaller towns and comprising about 45 million so far – have grown twofold in the last year alone. Monthly average users are about 1.2x compared to before TikTok was banned, while time spent on the apps is about 0.4x now.
