SoundCloud and Sony partner for breakout artist program

SoundCloud has announced a partnership with Sony Corp for this year’s First On SoundCloud artist accelerator program. The collaboration aims to provide selected artists with unique opportunities to advance their careers. Specifically, Sony’s division specializing in audio devices and technologies is deeply involved in this venture.

The roster of artists participating in the program this year includes Wolfacejoeyy, DJ_Dave, Nitepunk, Sojabrat, and Sim0ne. These talented individuals are known for creating new and distinctive musical landscapes exclusively on SoundCloud.

As part of the program, the chosen artists will gain access to valuable benefits, such as personalized mentoring, early access to SoundCloud’s beta tools, and state-of-the-art Sony audio creation technologies. They will also receive marketing support and opportunities to perform at SoundCloud and Sony-hosted events, among other perks.

Emmy Lovell, Global Head Of Music at SoundCloud, expressed her enthusiasm about the program’s core mission of empowering emerging artists and fostering music discovery for listeners. She emphasized the significance of partnering with Sony’s audio team and looks forward to unveiling the new class of breakout talent. Lovell envisions a collaborative journey to achieve creative milestones, expand global fanbases, and make an impact on each artist’s unique journey.

Jordy Freed, Head Of Brand & Business Development at Sony America, shared Sony’s dedication to supporting music creation and rising artists through their latest products and tools. He hinted at an upcoming brand platform and campaign that prioritizes the vision of creators.

Since its launch in 2018, First On SoundCloud has seen artists like Kehlani, Peggy Gou, and Little Simz pass through its ranks, proving its effectiveness in nurturing talent and propelling artists to success.
