Speaking about Sunder’s appointment, Josh Founder Virendra Gupta and Co-founder Umang Bedi, said,
“It gives us immense pleasure to welcome a seasoned professional like Sunder on-board. His achievements in the domain of entertainment and content ecosystem precede him, as he comes armed with a deep understanding of the short video ecosystem that we believe will create a lasting impact and will take Josh to greater heights.”

“Sunder’s expertise in content strategy and business-oriented functions will fuel Josh’s vision of encouraging Bharat’s youth to create engaging content in local languages and will allow us to infuse multiple content categories into our app,” added Gupta and Bedi.
In his new role at Josh, Sunder will be responsible for spearheading the short video ecosystem beyond mainstream content categories like dance, drama, comedy, and lip sync.
Speaking exclusively to Music Plus about his new role, Sundar said,
“All short format video apps like Moj, Taka Tak, Triller etc and Josh are trying to fill in the void created by TikTok’s exit. There is more to this format than just lip-sync, dance and drama. Short format videos is the new way of consuming content across the internet. People want to consume good ‘snackable’ content. Being the pioneers in the field, it is our responsibility to create more formats, genres and even create a musical on Josh.”
Sunder along with his team will look after the holistic development of content creators of Josh, while ensuring they are adequately equipped to become the superstars of tomorrow.
“We are a Bharat focused app so we will ensure we cover all the regional segments. The most important part about any content is the expression not the language. So we will ensure that the lack of knowledge of a particular language is not a hindrance. As a platform, we will ensure that the content creators will get reach and visibility pan India,” emphasised Sunder.
“We are going to strengthen our Artificial intelligence (AI) so that the users can access a lot of personalised content. The playlists shall be made in way that it will seem personalised to each user.”
