Oscar-winning music maestro AR. Rahman is all set for The Sufi Route to greet music lovers in a live concert at Qutub Minar, New Delhi on 18 November 2017. Renowned musicians like Nooran sisters, Mukhtiar Ali, Hans Raj Hans, Konya Turkish Music Ensemble along with Dhruv Sangari will promote peace through their music at the concert.
The Sufi Route is a concert for peace. It stands for the values and positive engagement essential for a bright and prosperous brotherhood.
Rahman says, “For me, Sufism means destroying the evil in your heart. This is something I cherish very closely. The need of the hour is that the spirituality and love which Sufism gives should be shared in humanity. Spirituality is not just bhajans and qawwalis, but love and actions.”
Rahman has excellently used Sufi influences in his numbers such as Khwaja Mere Khwaja (Jodhaa Akbar) and Kun Faya Kun (Rockstar).
The Sufi Route concert tour also plans to do a reprise in Turkey in its next edition, followed by concerts in UK and UAE. Konya Turkish Music Ensemble, Dhruv Sangari and some Dervish performers will be a part of the International concerts.
