On February 13, 2020 the Madras High Court ruled that legendary music director Illayaraja did not own the copyrights in 22 film soundtracks that belonged to music label The Indian Record Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Inreco).
Inreco had filed the case against Illayaraja, Agi Music Sdn Bhd of Malaysia and Unisys Info Solutions Private Ltd. for claiming copyright to the songs.
