July 28, 2019, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Katha Kathan is an initiative, consisting of a group of dramatized storytellers who are on a mission to save Indian languages, using literature as a platform. They will present 4 classic stories of Munshi Premchand as a prelude to his 139th birth anniversary, which will fall on 31st July. These stories will be presented in Hindustani.

As is wont of Premchand, the stories Rasik Sampadak, Bhoot, Prem ka Uday, Kafan, are raw, soul-stirring portrayal of greed, realization, lust, and life’s twists. His characters are timeless and are as much a reflection of the society in the 1900s as they are today. His understanding of the psyche of the poor, of the privileged, of the middle class, is unmatched and his scale is awe-inspiring. The Katha Kathan team, in their inimitable dramatized reading style, will bring alive these characters, through their voice, transporting listeners to the amazing world of stories and imagination.
