French collective La Fine Equipe to debut in India



The electro/hip-hop collective La Fine Equipe will debut in India followed by a three-city tour as a part of the third edition of Bonjour India festival. Presented by Mumbai based music management firm Mixtape, India will see popular French collective, La Fine Equipe, for the very first time. Curated and created by the French Institute in India in association with Alliance Francaise, Bonjour India festival is one of the biggest and most ambitious cultural initiatives between France and India.

Since 2008, La Fine Equipe, a group of three DJs/producers have been redefining the art of beat-making with their signature blend of instrumental hip-hop and electro-flavoured with soul, funk and jazz. The collective has taken a place as worthy ambassadors of the new French independent electronic music scene. Each of them being seasoned artists in their own right, their unique music personalities combine to deliver live performances that are extravagant displays of sampling, turntablism and teamwork. La Fine Equipe will be showing their magic in New Delhi on 30 November (Raasta), on 1 December in Mumbai (antiSOCIAL), and lastly in Bangalore on 2 December (The Humming Tree).

La Fine Equipe has multiple releases on their own label, Nowadays Records, and are widely known for producing the trilogy, La Boulangerie – a compilation of tracks featuring popular artists such as 20syl, Superpoze, Souleance to name a few. They were praised by Thump for boosting France’s already-thriving beat-making scene; Mixmag considers them to be one of the artists spearheading the new French electronic movement while Boiler Room termed them as ‘half men, half magicians’. The group has performed at major festivals including Les Vieilles Charrues, Dour Festival, Les Francofolies, Le Printemps de Bourges, Couleur Café Festival and has toured extensively across France, South-East Asia and Belgium.
