Indian digital media and music company, Divo has partnered with Spotify to launch original podcasts in Indian languages.
With this association, Divo will develop Spotify-exclusive audio content. As of now, Divo has already released eight podcasts on Spotify with RJ Sha, RJ Ananthi, Aranthangi Nisha, Rajmohan, Rishipedia, Kishen Das, Shanthnu & Kiki, and MaKaPa Anand.

Furthermore, Divo has come on board Spotify’s global programme ‘Spotify for Sound Up’, to amplify the voices of marginalised communities in different parts of the world. In India, the program targeted women podcasters.
As the audio market in India booms, the popularity of podcasts, which is on an upward swing has attracted the attention of several digital companies including the likes of Arré, radio network Mirchi, devotional video platform OMTV and several others. With 57.6 million monthly listeners, India is the third largest consumer of podcasts (after the US and China). According to The PWC Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2020 study, India’s podcast market, is expected to reach Rs 17.61 crore by 2023, with a CAGR of 34.5%.
