Daler Mehndi buys metaverse real estate, ‘Balle Balle Land’

Veteran Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi has bought real estate on the metaverse for an undisclosed amount. Christened the ‘Balle Balle Land’ (BBL), the space in the Metaverse will be home to future Punjabi music concerts, live events and cinema-adjacent engagement. Balle Balle Land is the first purchase of its kind in India.

Earlier this year, Mehndi was the first Indian artiste to have a performance in Web3 with his Republic Day show in the PartyNite Metaverse, the brainchild of Hyderabad-based game studio Gamitronics.

Mehndi’s land will also be home to a store, equipped with physical merchandise that can be delivered to your doorstep along with Web3 offerings such as NFTs. Plus, the singer has envisioned a party bus and a golden statue in his liking.

In an interview with Business Today, Mehndi said, “I went with an open mind on PartyNite Metaverse and it was a very rewarding experience. Audiences have moved online and I believe it is going to stay. The physical world has its own charm but with Metaverse, sky’s the limit.”

He added, “I really enjoyed performing on PartyNite and I wanted a permanent presence & hence created Balle Balle Land. I’m greatly thankful to Mr. Rajat Ojha & Mr. Rajiv Chilaka of Gamitronics for all the support. People from multiple countries like Holland, Malaysia, Brunei, Canada are all waiting to be a part of this initiative. This platform will also help me nurture talent and help the music community of Punjab, Sufi, Pop music & Bollywood grow.”

Rajat Ojha, creator of PartyNite Metaverse said, “We have had a fabulous association with Daler ji. We want to continue this relationship and Balle Balle Land is a move in that direction. We want to grow a community of musicians and integrate as much as possible with the physical world. It is an ever-expanding space and there is a huge scope for innovation. Yes, technology adoption is always slow during the formative years but once it takes off it will make history and Daler Mehndi will be remembered as the frontrunner in this space in India. We welcome him wholeheartedly to the PartyNite family”.
