Colonial Cousins To Recreate The Eagles in the First Concert Of The Jim Beam Originals Series

Songs being recreated is not a new phenomenon. So what is novel about the music property ‘Jim Beam Originals’?

This series of 10 virtual music experiences will feature famous Indian musicians recreate hits by legendary international artists in their own inimitable styles. Artists like Colonial Cousins, Shalmali, Benny Dayal, Shaan, Purbayan Chatterjee, Karsh Kale, Raghu Dixit, Usha Uthup, Thaikuddam Bridge, and Shor Police will recreate the music of a global music icon each.

The concert series is presented by PayTm Insider while it is curated and promoted by Turnkey Music Publishing and Music Plus.

Kicking things off is the legendary duo Colonial Cousins on 7th Nov 2020.

Veteran composer/singer/producer Leslee Lewis and one of the best singers of the country, Hariharan will recreate some of the biggest hits by The Eagles.

“In all reality it came as a shock to us when the team behind ‘Jim Beam Originals’ approached us to recreate The Eagles’ hits in our own style. I thought it was an amazing opportunity as The Eagles and Colonial Cousins are very melodic in their music. So the synergy was already there. Hari and I went through their songs and selected a few which we thought would suit our style the best,” said Leslee.

Let me give you a sneak peek into their setlist:

Peaceful Easy Feeling
Take It Easy
Witchy Woman
Lyin Eyes

There are some more major hits in the list and they all have the Colonial Cousins flavour. So what can the audience really expect?

An excited Leslee replied,

“We have managed to present The Eagles in a very Colonial Cousins style. Of course with Hari in the set up there would be Indian music elements too. Though the vocals would be in English, obviously, we have also used a lot of tabla, flute and other Indian sounds. I think it’s going to sound amazing. We both are really excited as such a concept has never been explored earlier and I am sure once you watch it, you will love it!”

The concert will be live on 7 November at 9 PM IST.
