After the first two days of musical madness at Sunburn 11, days three and four saw a galaxy of dance music superstars cast their spell on the thousands who were present at the Oxford Golf Resort, Pune. Here is a glimpse of what went down at the mecca of electronic dance music in India.
Day 3 saw British pop group Clean Bandit taking over the main stage as their vocalist Jess Glynne bombarded the audience with a barrage of hits that included Rockabye, Rather Be, Take Me Home, Hold my Hand among others.
Desi bass king Nucleya got the crowd in the scene when he asked thePunekars,“Scene kya hai”? as he belted out some of his biggest hits Bass Rani, Laung Gawacha, Lets Nacho and more. His set was accompanied by some amazing visuals of old Bollywood movies.
The biggest cheer of the night was reserved for KSHMR as he kicked off his set with Shiva, the official anthem for Sunburn 11 composed along with Marnik and The Golden Army. The American DJ and producer delivered a stunning performance by playing a mix of his recent collaborations including his song with Hardwell, Tiesto, Vassy, and a number of other collabs. KSHMR’s set had a lot of desi influence which included songs like Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy, Kajra re, Malhari etc accompanied with jaw-dropping visuals.
The final day of the festival saw Justin Mylo ruling the main stage with popular numbers like Faded, Where are you now, I’m coming home as the crowd warmed up to an epic NYE celebration.
As the musical extravaganza entered its final leg, psytrance maestros Infected Mushroom made the atmosphere absolutely electric.
Dance music heavyweight Afrojack got the crowd grooving to hits like In my mind, Mi Gente, Hey Mama, Closer. The party peeps at the venue were treated to an experience like no other, with the World number 9 DJ bombarding the crowd with hits coupled with stunning visuals. The stage was well set for the final act of the night.
World number 1 DJ, Martin Garrix greeted the crowd with a “Namaste” and started his set with I am coming home as fireworks lit up the sky. The crowd went berserk as he said “India is like a second home to me” while belting out hits like Animals, All for love, Now that I’ve found you, The only way is up and Set me free. Garrix had earlier got his fans going with his techno beats as he took to the console with his trap / progressive avatar YTRAM.
