Amplify Music Incubator (AMI), established in 2021 to address the challenges faced by independent artists in India, has announced the commencement of applications for its seventh edition starting June 11. Interested artists can submit their applications from May 8 onwards.
Founded by Mumbai-based music agency Gatecrash and Music Mulakatein Foundation, AMI is a national non-profit initiative designed to empower emerging artists. The program offers cultural and creative entrepreneurship training, facilitates industry networking opportunities, and emphasizes community building among artists.
The hybrid six-week program consists of five weeks of online sessions followed by a week-long residency in Goa, culminating in a showcase event. Over the years, AMI has supported projects like T.ill Apes, Easy Wanderlings, RANJ + Clifr, Anoushka Maskey, Shreyas Iyengar, and Sheherazaad, providing over 800 hours of professional development training delivered by industry experts from India, Canada, UK, and France.
Applications for the seventh batch, which runs from June 11 to July 22, will be open from May 8 to May 25 (midnight). Interested artists can apply through the official website.
AMI aims to equip artists with both creative and business skills, covering topics such as collaborative music-making, PR and promotions, copyright and royalties, streaming platforms, and live performance styling. The program also prioritizes artist well-being, offering workshops and discussions to support their holistic development.
Tanish Thakker, founder of AMI, emphasizes the program’s commitment to working with passionate artists dedicated to their craft. Selection criteria include a demonstrated commitment to their projects, as evidenced by previous music releases, performances, and engagement with the community.
Supported by Canada’s Music Incubator, Amplify Music Incubator provides a platform for artists to learn, grow, and contribute to the vibrant music community in India.
