The foremost Indian record label Super Cassettes Industries India Pvt Ltd (T-Series), once again chose Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) to manage its public performance license in India. This is an exclusive arrangement with PPL.
Speaking about the tie-up, PPL, Managing Director, Rajat Kakar said,

All Bollywood party anthems be it “BomDiggy” or “Abhi tho party shuru hui hai” will be part of the PPL licensing bouquet. With T-series on board, PPL controls the lion’s share of the Indian music market, as they already have major Indian companies like Saregama, Sony Music, Universal Music, Venus, Aditya, Lahari Music etc. PPL exclusively represent all international Majors in the Country thereby offering a complete bouquet of International, New Hindi Film, Old Hindi Classics and Regional Hits to its License Holders.
T-Series, Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. Bhushan Kumar said,

Public performance license is taken by hotels, clubs, retail stores, for events and background music usage so as to play their choice of music at the venue or event. Payment of such usage by obtaining a license from PPL is enshrined in the Copyright law. The tariffs for various usages are published on their site.
PPL India is a Collective Rights Management Organisation affiliated globally to IFPI (International Federation of Phonographic Industries) and represents the vast majority of Indian and Global Record Labels for monetisation of their Public Performance rights and also licenses Radio Broadcasts for its members. It represents over 270 Music Labels and over 800,000 Indian works and more than 1.5 Million International Works, which it licences to users of these in a professional and transparent manner. It is actively embracing Global best practices and is taking giant strides in order to enhance value for its members by increasing licensing coverage in India and overseas.
