At a time when music channels are going beyond music and experimenting with different formats and content, Mastiii, the music and youth channel owned by Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network Limited (SABTNL) has been ruling the market for more than five years as the number one music channel in India, thanks to its pure music-based programming.
Broadcasting Audience Research Council (BARC), released a report (all India U+R, 2+ years, weeks 8-50) on the top 10 Music Channels of 2017 where Mastiii maintained its superiority, garnering 163,671 Impressions ‘000s.
Impressions refer to the number of target Households in thousands where an “Event” was on, averaged across minutes.
B4U Music is at the second spot with 1,08,672 Impressions ‘000s. Followed by 9XM at the third position with 1,07,528 Impressions ‘000s and Sony Mix at the fourth position with 96,445 Impressions ‘000s.
Among the other Hindi music channels, 9X Jalwa garnered 80,981, Impressions ‘000s situated at the fifth place and MTV Beats at the sixth position with 79,979 Impressions ‘000s.
Zoom finished 2017 with 43,471 Impressions ‘000s, at the seventh position, whereas Channel V at eighth position got 37,846 Impressions ‘000s individually. Bindass play got the ninth position with 26,341 Impressions ‘000s.
Zee ETC Bollywood finished the year at the last position with 25,208 Impressions ‘000s.
