As per the Chairman Javed Akhtar’s Report available on the IPRS website, the Tariff Scheme which was enclosed and presented by the Governing Council has been passed by majority votes in favor of the resolution in the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on 11 April 2018.
Music Plus reached out to IPRS CEO Rakesh Nigam about the tariff scheme where he said,
“This tariff has been done keeping all the global benchmark and International practices in mind. Considering the new areas in which IPRS will be collecting, post it becomes a copyright society.”
The board had appointed partner of M/s Rathi and associates, company secretaries to scrutinize the voting process who furnished the Scrutinizer’s Report .
