The IFPI revealed their Top 10 Global Recording Artist Chart on 26 February 2018. Ed Sheeran was named 2017’s best-selling global recording artist for his album Divide (That was a no. 1 hit in countries around the world in 2017) by IFPI whereas Drake returned to Top 10, positioned at the second place.
According to the reports, Sheeran is the fifth recipient of the IFPI Global Recording Artist Award, in terms of the artist’s international success across physical and digital formats.
Taylor Swift is the only female to be on the chart at the third position for her smashing hit, sixth studio album Reputation. Kendrick Lamar is at number four for his phenomenal album Damn.
Eminem who has been there in the biz since last twenty years; scooped the fifth spot on IFPI’s Global Recording Artist of the Year chart. 2017 saw his ninth studio album, Revival, topping a phenomenal success with various accolades.
