Bengaluru has an audience for every kind of music and if live music is your poison, then check out these diverse places for a musical evening that will be hard to forget.

Blue Frog

Spread over 10000 sq. ft. with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, blueFROG Bengaluru is a state-of-the-art venue. With cutting-edge sound system synced with controlled light installations, this two-storey venue combines the best of an old-world balcony style theatre. It has been hosting an attractive mix of live and electronic acts from all over the world in the last few years. Talk about high-quality acoustic experience, rich smoky ambience along with scrumptious cuisine and a superb bar, this is one of the best venues in the city.

BFlat

As they claim, BFlat is Bengaluru’s first steadfast venue for live music and it is famous for live jazz concerts. Opened in March 2009, they have hosted prominent home-grown and international musicians and bands like Ranjit Barot, Selva Ganesh, Mahesh Vinayakram, Lou Majaw, Osam Ezzeldin, George Brooks, Louiz Banks, Gino Banks, Mohini Dey, Izaline Calister, EYM Trio, Soulmate, Sanjay Divecha, Skinny Alley, Dhruv Ghanekar, Electro-Deluxe, NoJazz, Malabi Tropical, Alex Machacek, Minino Garay, Nina Van Horn, Paban Das Baul, Brian Molley, EOL Trio, Bellatrix, and much more. This is quite an appealing spot as it is open to a mixed genre of music. Apart from live music performances, this place also hosts experimental theatre, music school workshops and even stand-up comedy sessions.

Koramangala Social

In Bengaluru, Social needs no introduction. The Koramangala Social is literally like nothing you’ve seen before. Located in the heart of the concrete jungle, the Kormangla Social is over 13,000 square feet across two floors. Apart from boasting about having the largest workspace in India, Social also hosts musicians and bands around the globe. They recently hosted musicians like Young Marco, Stalvart John, Anjunadeep’s Yotto and Jeremy Olander, Corvec, Sébastien Léger, Fort Romea, Bjorn Torske, and finest Indian artists such as Praveen Achary, Arjun Vagale, and Karsh Kale among others.

The Humming Tree

Built on a foundation of passion and love for the arts, The Humming Tree (founded in 2013 by Nikhil Barua) is an art, music and performance venue in Bengaluru, India. They officially launched The Humming Tree in a brand new space on 24 November 2017, now on the 1st floor of the same building (no more climbing up four flights of stairs!). Moving a step ahead to become a purely performance driven venue, The Humming Tree’s new space has a small, very homely cafe, a bar and a performance space to bring in the purists. 
 
Being the perfect host for international bands and musicians such as Micronaut, Soichi Terada, Nick Dwyer, Marco Minneman, Guthrie Govan, Twelve Foot Ninja, Lucy Rose, Clap! Clap!, Dubioza Kolektiv, Mike Posner among others, Humming Tree is currently curating 20+ programmes a month. The Humming Tree also hosted the first edition of Boiler Room in Bengaluru last year featuring Sinjin Hawke, Zora Jones and Jlin. 
Panning across not only music but also film, culture, comedy, theatre, poetry, storytelling, fundraisers, conversations on the environment and sustainability, this place is supporting social change and awareness through various projects.

Pebble

Located at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, Pebbles is a wonderful ecosystem to wind down and let everything go. Under the banyan tree, the jungle vibe of this place is truly overwhelming. Mostly organising psychedelic and trance gigs including some heavyweights from the same music field, this place is the ideal place to dance it out on weekends. You can experience any gathering filled with wild setup and see how music lovers could feel the vibes. Pebble has hosted artists like Loud, Ajja, 1200 Micrograms, Skazi, Azax Syndrome in the past and will be hosting artists like Arjuna, Govinda, Goa Gil in February 2018.

The Tao Terraces

Located on the fifth floor of 1 MG Road Mall, The Tao Terraces is a multi-level oriental themed rooftop lounge in the middle of Bengaluru CBD. Get away from the cities hustle and bustle for a weekday dinner or a date night. During the weekends, at night the place transforms into a club, that is a perfect outdoor venue for underground house and deep house music with amazing local and international artists. Definitely a ‘not to be missed’ venue in Bengaluru.

Hard Rock Café

Hard Rock Cafe needs no introduction and this place really lives up to the name. Started in 2007, HRC completed a decade in Bengaluru. Talk about three distinct seating areas, musical history, or even a variety of dining options, Hard Rock Café is a place for rock and contemporary music’s biggest heavyweights along with the signature retail shop. Situated in the heart of the thriving metropolitan city of Bengaluru, the 9000 square foot cafe includes an open patio, 100-seat eatery, and 120-seat bar area. Famous for live music gigs, the wide-reaching HRC Bengaluru has hosted musicians/bands like Thaikkudam Bridge, The Raghu Dixit Project, Benny Dayal, Perfect Strangers, When Chai Met Toast, and The Local Train among others.

Indigo Live Music Bar

If you are looking for a banging sound structure along with a power-driven vibe and a whole lot of madness, head to Indigo Live Music Bar. A fantastic looking place with two levels, Indigo Live Music Bar is Bengaluru’s first Music Bar, defined by its great music and a large performance stage, and an awesome open-air deck. On the fifth floor, the level one has the performance space along with a mind-blowing LED screen, 3D projector mapping, beautiful graffitis on the walls, whereas on the sixth floor the level two is the Indigo Live terrace. Perfect for lazy brunches or all day dining, Indigo Live terrace serves food from all across the globe.
